Pink Tourmaline sphere
Pink Tourmaline Sphere
A striking Pink Tourmaline sphere displaying large natural sections of deep raspberry-to-soft pink tourmaline crystals suspended within a pale quartz and mica-rich matrix.
This sphere shows bold internal crystal zoning, natural fracture networks, and contrasting mineral textures throughout the piece. Large cross-sections of pink tourmaline crystals are visible across multiple faces, creating a dramatic collector-grade appearance.
Overview
Pink Tourmaline is the manganese-rich variety of the mineral elbaite, a complex borosilicate mineral commonly found in granitic pegmatites alongside quartz, feldspar, and mica.
This sphere preserves large natural crystal sections within the host matrix, allowing the internal growth structure of the tourmaline to remain visible after polishing.
The lighter surrounding material appears to consist primarily of quartz and feldspar with mica-rich zones running throughout the piece.

Geological & Scientific Notes
Pink tourmaline forms within lithium-rich pegmatites during the late stages of magma crystallisation.
The bold pink sections visible throughout this sphere are preserved cross-sections of large elbaite crystals, while the surrounding pale matrix represents the pegmatitic host rock in which the crystals originally formed.
The visible fracture networks and reflective planes are natural internal structures commonly seen in tourmaline-bearing pegmatite material. Variations in pink intensity are caused by differing manganese concentrations during crystal growth.
Some darker areas within the sphere may also contain mica-rich material or iron-bearing mineralisation associated with the pegmatite environment.
Why This Piece Stands Out
• Large visible pink tourmaline crystal sections
• Strong natural crystal zoning
• Beautiful contrast between tourmaline and pale matrix
• Multiple exposed crystal faces throughout the sphere
• Natural internal fractures and growth structures
• Collector-grade pegmatite material
• Highly polished display sphere
Care & Handling
Pink tourmaline is relatively durable, but natural fracture planes and internal inclusions should still be handled with care.
• Avoid impacts or dropping
• Store separately from harder minerals
• Clean gently with warm water and a soft cloth
• Avoid harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners
