FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
About Our Crystals
What are your crystals made of?
All of our crystals are natural minerals, each with a specific chemical composition.
For example, quartz is made of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), while calcite is calcium carbonate (CaCO₃).
We include this information in our product descriptions so you know exactly what you’re buying.
Are your crystals natural?
Most of our crystals are natural and formed through geological processes over millions of years.
If a stone has been treated (e.g. heat-treated or dyed), we clearly state this in the product description.
Do you sell heat-treated or enhanced crystals?
Yes — some crystals on the market are commonly treated (such as citrine).
We always disclose:
• If a crystal has been heat-treated
• If it has been dyed or altered
Transparency is a key part of our approach.
Why do crystals vary in colour and pattern?
Variations are completely natural.
Colour and pattern are influenced by:
• Trace elements (e.g. iron, copper)
• Temperature and pressure conditions
• The environment in which the crystal formed
This is why no two pieces are identical.
Are all crystals actually what they’re labelled as?
Not always — and this is something we take seriously.
Some materials are commonly mislabelled in the industry (for example, certain “jade” is actually serpentine).
We aim to label everything as accurately as possible based on mineral classification.
Scientific & Educational Questions
Do crystals really take millions of years to form?
Yes.
Many minerals form over thousands to millions of years through processes such as:
• Cooling magma
• Mineral-rich fluids crystallising in rock
• Pressure and heat altering existing minerals
Why do crystals have specific shapes?
Crystal shapes are determined by their internal atomic structure.
For example:
• Quartz forms hexagonal crystals
• Fluorite forms cubes
This is due to how atoms arrange themselves during growth.
What is the Mohs hardness scale?
The Mohs scale measures how resistant a mineral is to scratching.
For example:
• Quartz = 7 (durable)
• Calcite = 3 (soft)
We include hardness where relevant so you understand how to handle your crystals.
Orders & Shipping
How are orders packaged?
All orders are:
• Carefully checked
• Securely wrapped
• Packaged to protect the crystal during transit
Will I receive the exact crystal shown?
Yes — unless stated otherwise.
Most of our listings are for the exact piece shown, so you know exactly what you’re getting.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping times vary depending on your location.
Estimated delivery times will be shown at checkout.
Care & Handling
How should I care for my crystals?
Care depends on the mineral.
General guidelines:
• Avoid dropping (some are brittle)
• Keep softer minerals away from scratches
• Clean gently with a soft cloth
Can crystals be damaged easily?
Some can.
Hardness varies:
• Quartz is durable
• Calcite and fluorite are softer and can scratch or chip more easily
