Heat treated Citrine Palm Stone
Heat-Treated Citrine Quartz Palmstone – Polished Oval with Internal Inclusions
This polished citrine quartz palmstone is a compact, hand-held piece displaying soft golden-yellow tones and a layered internal structure enhanced by a high-gloss finish.
The colour in this specimen has been produced through heat treatment of iron-bearing quartz. When quartz containing trace iron is exposed to elevated temperatures, the iron centres are altered, resulting in the yellow colour associated with citrine.
Shaped into a smooth oval palmstone, this piece fits comfortably in the hand. The curved, polished surface enhances the natural vitreous lustre of quartz while allowing light to pass through, revealing the stone’s internal features.
Inside the crystal, fine fracture planes, cloudy veils, and scattered mineral inclusions create depth and visual variation. These natural growth features remain visible after polishing, giving the piece a unique internal landscape that shifts with lighting and angle.
Subtle colour variation—from pale lemon to soft golden tones—combined with internal textures makes this a visually engaging and accessible quartz specimen.

🧪 Geological & Scientific Notes
Quartz forms in silica-rich environments such as hydrothermal veins and cavities within rock. Trace elements—particularly iron—are responsible for colour variations across quartz varieties.
In this specimen, heat treatment alters iron within the crystal lattice, producing the yellow colour. This process replicates natural heating conditions that can occur during geological activity.
Internal fractures and inclusions are a normal part of quartz formation. These structures interact with light, creating depth and subtle optical effects within the stone.
