Geological & Scientific Notes
Rose quartz is a variety of quartz composed primarily of silicon dioxide, with its soft pink coloration typically attributed to trace elements such as titanium, iron, or manganese, and in some cases microscopic inclusions of dumortierite.

These crescent moons are carved from massive quartz, meaning the material formed as a solid, intergrown mineral mass rather than distinct crystal points. This structure gives the stone its characteristic semi-translucent appearance, where light softly diffuses through the body, creating a gentle internal glow.

The subtle marbling, faint veils, and occasional internal inclusions visible within the moons are natural features of rose quartz. These variations contribute to the uniqueness of each carving, with some areas appearing more saturated while others remain softly milky or clouded.

The crescent shape highlights the stone’s natural colour gradients, with the curved edges catching light beautifully and the polished surface enhancing both lustre and depth.
