Brecciated Indian Amethyst Polished Tower
This brecciated amethyst freeform is a larger, more structurally defined specimen featuring interlocking fragments of amethyst and quartz cemented within a silica-rich matrix. Compared to finer brecciated material, this piece displays broader, more continuous sections of amethyst with visible fracture networks running throughout the structure.
The polished finish highlights the layered internal patterns, where translucent quartz zones intersect with deeper purple amethyst, creating natural contrast and depth across multiple faces.

Geological & Scientific Notes
Brecciated amethyst forms through a multi-stage geological process where quartz and amethyst crystals are fractured—typically due to tectonic stress—and later re-bonded by silica-rich fluids that crystallise to form a solid mass.
In this piece, the larger fragment size and more continuous banding suggest fewer but more significant fracturing events compared to finer brecciated material. The visible white and translucent lines are healed fracture zones, where silica has re-crystallised and sealed the structure.
The purple coloration is due to trace iron within the quartz lattice, which has been altered by natural irradiation over time. Variations in colour intensity reflect differences in iron concentration and exposure conditions during formation.
Why This Piece Stands Out
Larger, more defined amethyst sections compared to smaller brecciated pieces
Clear fracture networks showing natural geological processes
Balanced mix of translucent quartz and purple amethyst
Heavier, premium feel with strong display presence
Care
Clean with lukewarm water and mild soap
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
Store separately to prevent scratching softer materials
