Blue Chalcedony Tower – Soft Translucent Quartz

A clean, softly coloured blue chalcedony tower showing a uniform microcrystalline quartz structure with subtle internal clouding and gentle translucency at the edges.

Unlike agate, this piece has no banding, making it a pure example of chalcedony in its massive form — composed of tightly intergrown quartz crystals too small to be seen individually.

The soft blue-grey tone comes from trace mineral content within the silica during formation, giving it this smooth, even colour throughout.

✨ Key Features

📍 Uniform blue chalcedony (no banding – not agate)

📍 Soft translucent edges under light

📍 Waxy to vitreous lustre

📍 Natural internal growth patterns and density variations

📍 Clean polished tower with sharp geometric faces

📏 Dimensions

Height: 5.4 cm

Width: 2.8 cm

Weight: 46 grams

🔬 Geological & Scientific Notes

Mineral: Chalcedony (Quartz variety)

Chemical Formula: SiO₂

Mineral Class: Silicate

Crystal System: Trigonal (microcrystalline)

Formation: Forms from silica-rich fluids that solidify into a compact mass of microscopic quartz crystals

Hardness: 6.5–7 (Mohs)

Lustre: Waxy to vitreous

Transparency: Translucent

Chalcedony differs from agate by its lack of visible banding, forming instead as a consistent, fine-grained silica mass.

🧼 Care

Clean with lukewarm water and a soft cloth

Avoid harsh chemicals

Store separately to prevent surface scratches

💬 Honest Note

This is a natural chalcedony piece, not dyed or artificially enhanced.

Minor internal features and faint inclusions are part of its natural formation.
