This aura coated chalcedony specimen is a striking display piece that combines natural botryoidal crystal formation with an iridescent metallic finish. Its textured surface is covered in rounded, bubble-like formations, each dusted with a fine crystalline sparkle that catches the light from every angle.

The natural chalcedony base features a classic botryoidal structure, formed through layered mineral deposition over time. This creates the distinctive clustered, orb-like shapes across the surface, giving the piece both depth and a tactile, sculptural quality.
Enhanced with an aura coating, the surface displays a shimmering spectrum of colours—ranging from soft silvers and pale blues to flashes of gold, green, and violet. This iridescent effect is created by bonding a fine layer of metal to the crystal’s surface, resulting in a luminous, almost cosmic appearance while still allowing the natural texture beneath to remain clearly visible.

Under light, the piece sparkles with countless micro-reflections, producing a glittering effect that shifts as the angle changes. The contrast between the soft matte areas and high-shine iridescence adds dimension and visual intrigue, making it a standout decorative specimen.

Geological & Scientific Notes
Chalcedony is a microcrystalline variety of quartz composed of intergrown silica minerals. It commonly forms in smooth, rounded, botryoidal structures as mineral-rich solutions deposit layers over time.
The botryoidal formations seen in this specimen develop through repeated mineral layering, resulting in the characteristic clustered, spherical shapes. These natural growth patterns create both visual and structural complexity within the piece.

The aura coating is achieved through a modern enhancement process in which fine metals (such as titanium or other elements) are bonded to the crystal’s surface in a vacuum environment. This produces the iridescent, rainbow-like sheen while preserving the underlying crystal structure.

The sparkling effect across the surface is due to a druzy layer—tiny crystal terminations that reflect light in multiple directions, creating a glittering appearance.
While the base chalcedony is natural, the aura finish is an applied enhancement designed to elevate the visual impact of the specimen.

Condition
Natural botryoidal formation intact
Strong iridescent aura coating present
Sparkling druzy surface throughout
Minor natural irregularities consistent with formation
No structural damage observed

Care Instructions
Handle with care to avoid knocks or chips
Clean gently with a soft dry cloth (avoid soaking)
Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials
Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to preserve coating
Store separately to protect the surface
