This is a natural citrine quartz freeform featuring distinct phantom growth lines and vibrant internal rainbows, creating a visually captivating and energetically dynamic piece. The crystal displays soft golden-yellow tones with areas of enhanced depth, where internal formations and light reflections bring the piece to life.

Unlike raw clusters, this specimen has been carefully shaped into a polished freeform while still preserving its natural internal features. The sculptural form enhances visibility of the phantom lines—layered growth patterns captured within the crystal—as well as the flashes of rainbow refraction caused by internal fractures.

Geological & Scientific Notes
Citrine is a variety of quartz coloured by trace amounts of iron within its crystal lattice. The golden-yellow hues develop naturally through geological heating and oxidation processes over long periods.

This specimen features phantom formations, which occur when crystal growth temporarily pauses and then resumes. During this interruption, a layer of minerals or slight change in conditions creates a visible outline of the earlier growth stage within the crystal. These phantoms appear as faint geometric shapes or lines, giving a “crystal within a crystal” effect.

The internal rainbows are caused by light interacting with microscopic fractures and inclusions inside the quartz. These natural stress features refract light, producing flashes of spectral colour that shift depending on the viewing angle.

Clarity varies throughout the piece, with some areas appearing clearer and others more included. These inclusions and internal textures are completely natural and provide insight into the crystal’s formation history.
The polished freeform shape enhances both optical effects and internal visibility, allowing the phantom lines and rainbow flashes to be viewed from multiple angles.
